The first edition of this book appeared already in 1993. The book offers an overview of the digestion and metabolism of ruminants. Since then, a lot of new research has been performed.
The second edition of the book now includes an additional author, Dr.Dijksta from the Animal Nutrition Group van Wageningen University, adding four new chapters. The rest of the chapters were expanded or updates in as far as it was necessary.
