Transport of horses in Benelux more flexible

Source: LNV
Veterinary authorities of Belgium, Luxemburg and The Netherlands have agreed to make the transport of horses within the Benelux easier. Riders can thus more easily cross borders.
As from now, it is no longer necessary to inspect horses 48 hours prior to departure. Also, there is no longer a demand for health certificates. The animals do still need a passport, though.
The change does not apply to slaughter horses. They still have to be inspected prior to departure when moving to another Benelux country and still need an identification document as well as a health certificate.
