Spain to accept cut in Agricultural Spending

Surprisingly, president Zapatero of Spain has informed Premier Blair that Spain may be willing to accept a cut in agricultural aid, on the condition that the money may instead be used for development and research.
The question rises whether Zapatero wants to secure the height of Agricultural subsidies for the future. At this moment, France is making most use of the EU-agriculture subsidies, followed closely by Spain.
